Kevin Matchstick and his friends sit at the center of the growing group’s activities, yet some would have it otherwise as the infighting continues to be a problem. In the aftermath of a particularly anxious encounter (a sighting of Sprigginflints), Kevin finds himself challenged by the powerful Dragonslayer. Through it all, the Pale Incanter tries to instill life into his ominous creation — a golem! To top it all off, Kevin and the boys again encounter the witch, Isis Hunter, who claims to have come north for a covening with her two sisters — one of whom Kevin has met before.
